Football boot launches don't give you much room to be precious. They move fast, the expectations are high, and everything from the hero video to the smallest piece of campaign collateral has to feel like it belongs to the same world. Working on the Furon and Visaro launches for New Balance through agency Werewolf was exactly that kind of project, and I loved every bit of it.
As Lead Designer across both campaigns, I was responsible for the 3D modelling and animation that sat at the heart of everything. That meant building the boots themselves in 3D, getting every panel, texture, and surface right, and then using those assets across the full range of campaign deliverables. Product launch videos, social content, advertising, you name it, the 3D work had to hold up across all of it.
What makes this kind of project satisfying is seeing the same core asset live in so many different contexts. A boot you've spent hours getting just right in 3D ends up in a launch film, then a cut-down for social, then a static ad, and each one has to feel considered and intentional rather than like an afterthought. Getting that consistency across a full campaign rollout is something I really enjoy working on.
The Furon and Visaro were two distinct boots with their own personalities, so doing this twice over, finding the right energy and visual language for each, kept things interesting. It's the kind of work that sits at the crossroads of craft and communication, and with a great team at Werewolf behind it, we made something worth being proud of.
